Inner Qigong is more than a practice — it’s a way of coming home to yourself.

It evolved from a rich blend of ancient and modern traditions: Taoist movement, Tibetan Yoga, and the Western theory of Developmental Movement. Together, they form a practice that reconnects body, mind, and spirit through movement, awareness, and breath.

Rooted in Qigong, Aikido, Yantra Yoga, Dzogchen, and Developmental Movement, Inner Qigong is a unique form of self-exploration. It invites us to journey inward — to feel, listen, and communicate with the inner landscape of the body: the organs, fascia, muscles, and bones. Through this process, we rediscover the natural harmony between all the parts of ourselves.

🌬️ The Energy of the Six Divisions

In Inner Qigong, the formal movements embody the energy of the Six Divisions — an ancient understanding of how different aspects of the body and mind communicate and support each other.

These movements link the meridians of the legs, which relate to the Earth, with those of the arms and head, which relate to the Heavens. This creates a living bridge between grounding and expansion — helping us stay connected both to our roots and to our higher awareness.

Each Division is also connected to a stage of infant development, which means the practice doesn’t just work on energy levels — it reawakens the deep physical intelligence that shaped us in our earliest years. The sequences are gentle, almost yoga-like, following developmental movement patterns that rebuild the body’s foundation for health, flow, and vitality.

💫 How Inner Qigong Helps in Daily Life

Inner Qigong isn’t about performing perfect postures — it’s about cultivating presence.

Through slow, mindful movement, we begin to listen to our body’s language again. We feel the subtle shifts in tension and flow. We notice the areas that need attention, kindness, or release.

With practice, this awareness extends into our everyday lives.

We move, speak, and respond with more clarity, steadiness, and compassion.

It becomes a way of living — not just a weekly class.

👩‍👦 How Inner Qigong Has Helped Me as a Parent

As a mother of two boys, now 14 and 10, I’ve found Inner Qigong to be one of the most powerful tools to keep my balance in the beautiful chaos of family life.

Parenting brings endless movement — emotions, changes, demands, and love all swirling together. Some days, it’s easy to feel stretched in every direction.

Through Inner Qigong, I’ve learned how to ground myself when emotions run high, and how to breathe before reacting. For example:

  • When my older son challenges boundaries or tests independence, I use the grounding movements from the Tai Yin–Yang Ming Division to bring my energy down, soften tension in my chest, and reconnect with patience.
  • When my younger son is full of excitement and needs my attention, I practice the Shao Yin–Tai Yang movements — feeling the strength of my legs and the openness of my upper body — so I can meet his energy with calm enthusiasm instead of fatigue.

Inner Qigong helps me stay connected to my centre, even when the day feels chaotic. It has taught me to sense when I’m losing balance and how to gently come back — not by control, but by awareness.

That awareness has changed how I parent. It helps me listen, respond, and hold space for my children’s emotions without being swept away by them.

🌸 The Benefits of Practising Inner Qigong

Through regular practice, many people notice:

  • Greater emotional balance and mental clarity
  • Improved posture, breathing, and energy flow
  • Release of muscle tension and chronic holding patterns
  • Deeper connection between body and mind
  • A stronger sense of presence and calm in everyday life

But beyond the physical and energetic benefits, Inner Qigong offers something even more valuable — a quiet confidence that grows from knowing yourself deeply.
